Motorcycles Will Save The Planet!

I know a lot of you are not on and/or have no interest in MySpace, but I thought I would share none the less.  I know the people behind this and they are a bunch of great guys, real down to earth hard working people with great senses of humor and good strong character.  As soon as they have their web page up I will post about it here as well.

Do you have a hard to buy for environmentalist motorcycle enthusiast on your list?  Here is the answer as to the what to get them for the Holidays!  Liberty Electric Motorcycle Company makes custom electric street legal motorcycles.  Not scooters, not mopeds.  Motorcycles.  Motorcycles that need no gas.  I'll give you a moment for your brain to finish wrapping itself around that one.

Please check out and add the new Liberty Electric Motorcycle Company page to your friends list, then pass it along to your friends!  I'll know if you do, I know Santa and he knows everything!!  Don't even get me started on my other connections!!

Even if you or someone close to you is not into motorcycles maybe a friend of a friend of a friend on your friends list is and would love to know about these!  Thanks for spreading the word!

Bright Blessings, Happy Holidays and Safe Travels,
Catie

You can gank the icon if you want, but please give me credit for making the icon. It is my first icon with text. Simple, but nice I think! I used GIMP 2.0 to make the icon. It is in .png format.

Pre-dawn sparkles

It is that time of year again for the Lyrids meteor shower! Now that we are living out in the country, I am hoping for a good view this year! I will have to drag out the lawnmower to the back forty and mow it tomorrow to make sure the grass isn't too high out there for the sleeping bags. Thankfully it is early enough for there to be too many bugs and the cold snap we just had killed off those who were already coming out. The house will block the street lights now that I know where to look, so the only other light problem may be our neighbors back pole light... but I don't think even that would deter the view. We might lay on the top of the storm shelter to get a great angled view. I didn't think about viewing meteor showers when we decided to move here, but this is going to work out great! Nighttime temps in the high 40's, clear sky, few bugs, fewer man-made lights and a sleeping bag for two! Who could ask for more?!? The high point of the showers going on through the 25th is this coming Sunday morning, the 22nd, at about 2am. Anyone in the North Alabama area who wants to come join us, let me know via email or comment. For me its a great excuse to stay up late!

A Literary Post

For those who do not know, my HSP is a book lover... to put it mildly. He loves to read. And he can go through a book in nothing flat! If War and Peace were something he would enjoy reading I doubt it would take him more than four days to read cover to cover! Aside from constantly searching for affordable bookshelves, never mind the books, on the internet, whenever I come across anything reading / book related I stop and have a looksie... for one never can tell with the internet what one might find!

In my latest excursion onto the web I came across this post about needing more bookshelves on Live Journal (my preferred blogging site!) and it lead me to a literature abuse site! I kid you not! While some signs of literature abuse do apply to HSP, all in all, I do not feel his love of reading is a problem. And as far as problems people have that need to be fixed, I'm not sure literature abuse is one I can get behind. Maybe it is just the English major in me, but I feel that the collective works of Al Gore is literature abuse, not what ALAS is talking about!

So this brings forth the questions:
1. Who do you think is a literature abuser?
2. Read any good books lately?

I am ashamed to admit that the last book I read was almost a year ago..... but at least it was a good one! It was Lady Slings The Booze by Spider Robinson. Pure reading enjoyment!
